For those green thumbs who have a limited space, vertical gardening offers a solution, and a Delta area workshop will explore this topic in depth.
This introduction to small space vegetable growing will be filled with information and tips that can be useful to anyone gardening in an urban environment. The set ups that will be discussed may be used on walls, balconies and fences, and everyone will go home with some packets of seeds so they can start channelling their inner green thumb right away.
This activity will take place in person, and everyone is reminded to bring a water bottle so they will be able to have a drink during the session. The participants will learn about a variety of systems that can make vertical gardening easier. Plant choice, care, watering and pest control will all be on the agenda, along with other topics.
An event like this can spark an interest in gardening, and workshop packages that are filled with promotional Pens, pamphlets and other materials will help participants to learn even more. Items like these are available at local Print shops.
The Introduction to Vertical Gardening event will welcome ticketholders on June 6th at Vancouver’s West End Community Centre. It will begin at 10:00 am, and it is set to run for two hours.
