The Tsawwassen Sun Festival will take place this weekend from July 30 – August 1. It is a popular annual festival in the South Delta area and it attracts thousands of visitors. Print companies in Delta have been busy providing printed schedules that are available at the Tsawwassen Legion and in area stores.
The base of operations for the Tsawwassen Sun Festival is Winskill Park but there will be 8 stages and venues downtown around 56th Street. The festival boasts that it will be presenting more than 30 musical and entertainment acts. This year is also the first year that will feature a musical festival which will run from July 29 – August 1.
There is a lot to do at the festival and there is probably something that will appeal to everyone. One of the most popular events to take place at the festival will be the 30th annual Slo-pitch baseball tournament. In addition, there will be a Rotary Club Parade along 56th Street on August 1 at 11am, a pancake breakfast, a beer garden, a wine tent, a skateboard competition, fireworks on July 31, food concessions and bingo games. There will also be an antique fair taking place during the weekend, a market place to pick up souvenirs, a children’s midway, a petting zoo, a pie-eating contest, a BMX show, a martial arts demonstration and much more.
