Small space gardening class on offer in Delta

Budding gardeners can attend a Delta workshop that will advise them how they can grow their own fruits and veggies in the small urban space they may have.

The class, which is one of the sessions that make up this year’s series of sustainable workshops hosted by the city, will offer growing tips that can help urban home farmers to make the most of the space they have. It will be focused on growing food, and the instruction will be provided by Ian Lai.

Students will learn about choosing which containers to use for their garden as well as how to prepare them for planting. They will also find out what varieties do best in small spaces, as well as pest control, watering and how to keep their plants healthy. Pocket gardening will also be discussed, and the group will have a chance to ask any questions they might have.

The North Delta Recreation Centre will be the location for this workshop, and it will begin at 10am. Local Print shops can provide Posters and other materials that can advertise and equip events like this.

The class, which will share secrets of how gardeners can make the most from a tiny space, will be run on May 25th. Details about other workshops in this series can be found on the City of Delta’s website
