Learn about marketing to the USA at the Delta Chamber of Commerce

The Delta Chamber of Commerce is presenting the seminar “Small business strategies for USA marketing” at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn on January 18, 2012 from 8-10:30 am. Registration fees are $30 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members.

The seminar will be presented by Jim Pettinger of International Market Access and April Collier of Pacific Customs Brokers USA. Those who attend will be given an overview of how to effectively market to the United States.

The day starts off with breakfast and a short chance to network with other Delta small business owners. Arrange to have a new business card printing order delivered to you before the seminar so you are prepared. A lot of business is accomplished over meals such as breakfast.

After breakfast the Chamber will offer a brief welcome and introduction to the presenters. An overview of the US market will be presented followed by “USA Marketing and Distribution (Strategies, Lessons & Pitfalls)” presented by Jim Pettinger. Next April Collier will discuss “U. S. Custom Clearance Guidelines (Procedures and Issues)”. This will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer period and further discussion.

The U.S. market is so large and so close that it would be a mistake to ignore it. Marketing to the U.S. could involve just importing and exporting or it could involve setting up a business in the country. Small businesses with a small budget need to learn how effectively compete with those companies who have millions of dollars to spend.
