Festival to illuminate Delta sky
The Luminary Festival will return to Delta this September, looking to end the summer with lights and celebration.
The event is focused on multiple forms of light. Visitors can make lanterns and see novel light installations and LED items. Lanterns can draw inspiration from personal taste, popular culture or historical tradition. The festival will also feature artistic luminaries, including musicians, dancers, circus performers and buskers wandering the grounds. The Exchange will headline the main stage of concerts. Festivalgoers are invited to wear colourful costumes and take part in interactive activities.
Area businesses will also be represented at the Luminary Festival through an area of food trucks and other local vendors. Exhibitors at festivals like this often use business cards and promotional giveaways to help reach new customers. Volunteers will also be involved in food distribution and setting up the festival. In past years, the festival has partnered with Delta’s Watershed Artworks Gallery Shop to provide artistic installations on land and water.
There will also be shuttle service between the North Delta Recreation Centre and the festival grounds at Sunstone Park to help people get to and from the Luminary Festival. This will include some traffic and parking disruption to accommodate the festival.
The 2025 Luminary Festival will take place at Sunstone Park in Delta on the evening of September 6.
