What's Happening in Delta, BC…

Families offered sneak peek into Delta port

Delta offers Canada access to ports across the Pacific, and an upcoming event will be offering a sneak peek into the day-to-day operations of its port.

The Port Adventure Family Tour will give all ages the chance to see how the port facilitates trade, and it will include the site’s history, as well as details about its current function and plans for the future.

The tour will open with a discussion of how the site was once the home of a ferry landing, and after this, it will be time to head to Roberts Bank to view the modern port. The attendees will learn about how it is home to the continent’s largest coal export facility and to two deep sea terminals, and they will also be able to view the large equipment used to move sea containers and load them onto trains or trucks.

A tour of a community's infrastructure gives members of the public a chance to develop a better understanding of how it helps to support the local, regional and even national economy. Promotional products for an event like this can be prepared by an area printer.

The Port Adventure Family Tour will provide a sneak peek into the life of Delta’s container port beginning at 10:30 am on March 22nd at 5223 Ladner Trunk Road. The tour will conclude at 11:45 am. If it sells out, a wait list will be available.
