Soup served piping hot from the stovetop can be a perfect dish for a winter day, and an upcoming Delta class will show how simple it can be to prepare soup at home.
Southlands Red Barn in Delta has made arrangements to offer a workshop that will introduce home chefs to the basics of preparing tasty soups. These recipes may be both flavourful and economical, and it is being hosted by What’Soup.
This morning activity will prepare both meat-based and vegetable soups, and everyone will learn how to get started by preparing a broth base. The process of roasting the meats and vegetables, as well as other techniques for creating a well-seasoned dish, will be included, and storing the finished products will be discussed as well. Each attendee can take up to two litres of soup home with them, and tickets for the activity are on offer now.
The organizers have noted that everyone who attends will need to supply their own knife, peeler and cutting board. Recipe cards will be distributed to the group. A flyer printing company will be happy to help market a hands-on workshop like this one to a community.
The Make Soup at Southlands session will provide an introduction to the art of preparing tasty soups on Saturday, February 4th. It is suitable for those aged 12 and up.
