Delta workshop to offer inside scoop on autism diagnosis

Learning their child is autistic is the first step on a lifetime journey for special needs families, and a Delta workshop will give parents information they can use to hit the ground running.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society is offering a special workshop for parents and caregivers with a child who has been diagnosed as being autistic. It is open to all those with a child on the spectrum, and there’s many benefits to taking part.

Participants will learn about what the diagnosis can mean to their child as well as the various supports that are on offer to them in their local community. Therapy options will be discussed, as will government programs that can help them. It will also give them a chance to meet with others who know what they are going through and a supportive network like this is often very important.

The participants in a workshop like this are usually eager to learn as much as possible. Offering them packages that include Brochures, Business Cards from various local support organizations and other materials can give them information they need to make informed choices about their child’s future.

This two hour long session is set to be offered at 5050 47 Avenue in Delta. It will begin at 12:30pm on September 30th.
