Square dancing can be a fun way to get some exercise, and a Delta activity will soon be teaching a new crop how to enjoy the pastime.
The registrants in the Southlands Spring Square Dance will be kicking up their heels to a variety of tunes, all under a starlit sky. Its listing explained that no experience is needed, and even those with two left feet may find it a lot of fun.
Paul will be the caller for the evening, and he has a lot of experience in doing so. He will explain the steps, and while the crowd learn them, they can expect lots of laughter and smiles. People can attend as a couple or on their own and the music will be provided by local artists. A food truck will be on hand, and fruit sodas and other beverages will be available as well. The activity is for those ages 6 and up, and special attire is not required.
Public events can help to build a sense of community, and they may also be a whole lot of fun. A poster printing company often proves to be a helpful partner in promoting functions throughout an area.
This evening of square dancing will be set up at the Southlands Grange Centre for Farming and Food on May 4th. The festivities will begin at 6:30 pm.
