Delta green thumbs offered spots in walking workshop

Gardeners can be a social bunch, and an event that is on the calendar for Delta green thumbs will arm them with both information and an opportunity to meet other home horticulturalists.

Two facilitators will be guiding a workshop that will be on offer at The Red Barn at Southlands Tsawwassen, and they will both be well versed in home gardening. It is being hosted thanks to Southlands Foundation, and while members of the general public have been asked to pay a registration fee of $15, this is not required if they have a current membership.

During the activity, which will take place outdoors, the attendees will be able to view the site’s gardens for inspiration for their own beds. Several topics are on the slate for discussion, and the participants will discover how they can start now and plant seeds so they can enjoy a harvest in the fall and early winter. They can ask questions, and the run time for the session is one and half hours.

Home horticulture often combines fun with the satisfaction of being able to grow at least some of the food for the family’s table. A session like this allows attendees the chance to sharpen their skills, and handouts for a session can be prepared by Stationery printers.

The Red Barn at Southlands Tsawwassen will be hosting the ‘How is your garden growing?’ workshop on July 22nd. It will begin at 10:30 am.
