Delta free compost program to return for 2020

Many successful gardeners count compost as one of the most important tools, and in Delta, green thumbs are welcome to take advantage of a special offer that will soon be available.

Free Compost Week is right around the corner, and it can be a great chance for the public to obtain some of this “gardening gold" at no cost. They can pick up their compost at the Vancouver Landfill, and everyone in Delta can participate.

This week-long event will see members of the public go home with up to one cubic meter of free compost, and according to the organizers, this amount can easily fit into the back of a pick-up truck. Proof of residency, such as a vehicle registration, a utility bill or driver’s license is required by each person making a pick up, and the compost will be available at 5400 72nd Street.

An event like this can be great for local gardeners, and it shows the public the value of a community’s household composting program. A flyer printing company can help to spread the word about this sort of a giveaway by crating Flyers and other publications that can be sent to local households and posted throughout the area.

This year’s Free Compost Week is scheduled to run from March 28th until April 5th. Anyone who wants more information about the initiative can find it on the “At Home in Ladner” website.

It is advised to check whether the event is still taking place.
