Childcare providers in Delta who want to make sure they are up to date when it comes to their first aid qualifications may want to register now for an upcoming class.
The Emergency Childcare First Aid workshop meets both the standards set by the Red Cross and the licensing regulations put in place by the province. Karen Clark will be the trainer for the function, and it will be a full day of learning.
The participants will learn what to do in a variety of emergencies, and CPR for both babies and children will be included. The basics of first aid are on the agenda, and child safety will be discussed as well. The group will also be taught how to clear an obstructed airway.
When they arrive for the day, each of the registrants will be issued a manual that they will be able to keep for future reference. A certificate of completion will also be presented, and items like these can be prepped ahead of a function by area Stationery printers. The certification will be valid for three years.
The registration fee for this learning opportunity is $110. It is scheduled for March 20th, and the doors will open at 9:00am. The activity will take place at Child Care Options CCRR, which is located at #100-6846 King George Boulevard in Surrey.
