Delta farm plans open house-style occasion

A Delta herb farm will soon be opening its gates to the public for a free, family-friendly celebration, and will offer a sneak peek into the area’s agricultural sector.

Day at the Farm will be on offer at Westham Island Herb Farm, and along with showcasing farming techniques and equipment, it will explore the area's natural history and heritage. Open for six hours, tickets for the festivities may be reserved now.

The plans for the day will see visitors to the herb farm treated to hay rides as well as a potato dig, and live music will showcase area talent. While admission is free, anyone who would like to make a financial contribution is encouraged to do so when they revere their passes. The proceeds from the festivities will be donated to Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust, which will use them to help preserve local farms, forests and other wild spaces.

An open farm day gives the public an opportunity to find out where the food on their plate comes from. A banner printing company will be pleased to lend a hand by creating signage and other items for an event.

Westham Island Herb Farm has made plans to offer this agricultural experience on September 9th. It will be open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
