The event is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among women, especially women of colour, with seminars and events on topics like business law, human resources, leadership, and marketing. These lessons are part of an intensive “CEO Bootcamp” series of sessions. There will also be a Women-Owned Business Expo, showcasing products and services created by female entrepreneurs, mentorship opportunities with industry leaders, and breakout networking sessions. Attendees at events like this often use resumé and business card printing to help prepare for potential connections.
Confirmed speakers include designer and realtor Rupi, networking specialist Cathy Kuzel, and PR strategist Sarah Mawji-Walker, who will be hosting seminars and workshops throughout the day. The Expo is designed to kick off a year of events large and small aimed at benefiting female entrepreneurs in the Delta region and beyond. Exhibitors, mentors, and investors are gathered through applications from the local community. The group’s mission statement explains their purpose:
“Founded with a passion for empowering women in business, SheBiz is dedicated to providing the resources, mentorship, and community needed for women entrepreneurs to thrive in today’s fast-paced and competitive marketplace.”
The SheBiz Women’s Expo & CEO Bootcamp will take place on March 22 at Cascades Casino in Delta.
