Childcare providers who want to be sure that they are up to date when it comes to their first aid and CPR certifications may want to sign up for a learning opportunity on offer near Delta.
A nine-hour long course that will use a combination of lectures and hands-on learning has been scheduled, and according to the host organization, it meets area childcare licensing regulations. It is being offered by Child Care Options in Surrey, and the cost to register is $110.
During the workshop, facilitator Karen Clark will be teaching first aid techniques for a variety of situations that may be encountered in a childcare setting. These include choking, bleeding and breathing emergencies, and both CPR for children and babies will be included. The participants will also learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and other tools that may help them to save a life in an emergency.
Anyone who would like to register for this opportunity is asked to contact the organizers directly. Training manuals for this sort of activity can be prepared by area Print shops, which can also supply wallet cards and certificates of completion for the participants.
The date for the Emergency Child Care First Aid workshop is June 5th, and it will start at 9:00am. The venue will be located at 6846 King George Boulevard in Surrey.
