There are several family-friendly events taking place this July 1st in Delta. It is likely that residents of the city will decide to attend at least one of these celebrations of the country’s 149th birthday.
The first event will be held at Diefenbaker Park from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and is presented by the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions. There will be lots of fun activities including official ceremonies and cake.
Kirkland House in Ladner will be having a festival from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. There will be antique tractors and vehicles on display, spinning and weaving demonstrations and music from the Delta Police Pipe Band. There will also be rides, games and plenty of food and drinks.
The final event of the day will be at Chalmers Park in North Delta from 5:35 pm to 10:45 pm. There will be an official ceremony, children’s craft activities and games. Plenty of barbecue food will be available and music will be provided by Purple Pirate and the March Hare Band. The evening will finish off with a fireworks display.
Events like these often feature lots of flags and Banners; it is likely these will be obtained from a Delta printing company.
Those attending these events are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. To find out more about any of the celebrations, contact the City of Delta at 604-946-4141.
