Delta breakfast to offer festive start to holiday season

A Delta tradition will soon see a special guest return to the city for a family-friendly meet and greet, and both the young and the young at heart may want to save the date for this festive kickoff to the winter holidays.

Breakfast with Santa, which has been hosted in Ladner for over 35 years, will see a selection of local elected officials put politics to the side so they can serve up tasty breakfast fare to members of their community. Santa will arrive in a police cruiser with full lights and sirens, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the celebration.

The planners of this annual function noted that it depends upon the support of local businesses and volunteers to make the morning a success, and there are many tasks that will need to be done. The sponsors can offer monetary assistance or gifts in kind to the function, and volunteers will help with organizing the meal, decorating the venue, prepping breakfast and, once everyone has left for home, the final clean-up.

This sort of event often plays a role in building a strong community, and a huge welcome banner can add the final touch to the festivities. A banner printing company will be able to supply items like this.

This year's Breakfast with Santa will be hosted at Delta’s Ladner Community Centre on December 5. Tickets start at $5 per person.
