This September, Delta will see the return of an event that had to be put on hiatus for the past two years.
Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust will be offering sneak peek into how food is grown, and it will be focused on the local agricultural scene. The fun will be hands-on, and admission to the activity is by donation. The event will raise money for the Grassland Set Aside Program, which secures spaces for wildlife at Delta farms.
The event will be held at Westham Island Herb Farm, and everyone is welcome. The attendees will be able to view and engage with interactive displays and learn about the connections between wildlife and farming, and a hay ride, horse plowing demonstrations and a potato dig are all on the agenda. Live animals will be on site, along with a tractor display, a mini farmers’ market and music, and everyone will be able to enjoy the excitement of an auction.
A banner printing company is often called upon to supply decor for an outdoor event like this. It can prepare them using materials that will be able to withstand being out in the elements.
The Day at the Farm event will allow attendees to learn more about where their food comes from on September 10th. The venue can be found at 4690 Kirkland Road.
