Brochures may be used to outline Delta Hospital future plans

Fraser Health Authority (FHA) held a session explaining their planning initiative to map the direction Delta Hospital will take. Executive Director of capital planning of Fraser Health, Marco Buccini told the audience that a clear vision is needed. This vision will show the way the hospital will fit in with the remaining health care system. Print companies in Delta will be retained to provide the needed Brochures and materials for the planning committee.

There were about 60 people in the audience that was comprised of hospital auxiliary members and hospital staff. One project that the future could hold is there could be expansion to the department of diagnostic imaging.

Buccini said:

“I’m very excited. I know we’ll be doing some cool things on the site shortly.

“It’s not just about the buildings, it’s what’s inside.”

Short term goals will be looked at within the plan, as well as long term goals. Buccini said that partnerships are needed if services are expanded at a future time. Mary Rhode, senior clinical planner said that there is an issue with parking that the municipality and its bylaws will have to address.

Delta Hospital Auxiliary president, Kitty Sawycky, told those attending that last year $500,000 was raised by the auxiliary which was earmarked for equipment for the operating room.

Brochure printers in Delta will be on hand to help the Health Authority realise its plans in a way that clearly outlines what is in store for the medical facility, and once the final plan is done, there will be several recommendations for the Board of the Fraser Hospital Authority. The plan is expected to be done by June’s end.
