Annual party celebrates Earth Day

The Party for the Planet is taking place to celebrate Earth Day next month. This event is the largest of its kind in the province of British Columbia and is hosted by the City of Surrey.

There will be lots of musical entertainment and cultural performances on the Global Stage, as well as a mascot dance-off, Kids’ World, and a tree and plant sale. Family-friendly activities will include Enviro Bungee, a rock climbing wall, an art contest, and a digital photo booth. In addition, there will be food trucks and drinks for sale, including those from the bike-powered smoothie booth.

Arts and crafts vendors are also expected to be on hand to sell a variety of handmade items. The Community Hub will feature booths hosted by various nonprofit organizations, especially those that are concerned about the environment. BC Plant Health Care will also be on hand to answer questions, and visitors can also be educated in the collection and recycling zone.

This event will likely attract families from all around the area, including those from nearby Delta. To advertise, organizers may invest in poster or flyer printing services.

There are still some volunteer positions available at the Party for the Planet, which will take place at Surrey City Hall Plaza on April 23 and is free to attend. To learn more about this event, or to volunteer, call 604-591-4011.
