Annual fair showcases students history research

The 5th annual Delta/Surrey Regional Heritage Fair is happening next month over two days, and is a presentation of the City of Delta.

The fair is held to showcase history projects put together by students from both elementary and secondary schools in Delta and Surrey. Each project must present at least one aspect of Canadian history. In early spring, each participating school selected the students who would represent the school at the fair.

Day one of the fair will be Student Fair Day. The students will attend workshops, take field trips and be interviewed by fair judges. The second day is Public Fair Day and it will give the public and parents the opportunity to view the projects. There will also be a variety of family-friendly activities taking place throughout the day.

The day will end with the presentation of awards. Winners of the fair will have the opportunity to take part in the Provincial Heritage Fair to be held in July.

Delta and Surrey Print shops are often asked to supply Posters, signage and Banners to the organizers of such events.

This annual fair will be held at the Harris Barn in Ladner over the weekend of May 10 to 11, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM each day. For more information about this event, call Stephanie Haddaway at 604-952-3838.
