Port Coquitlam is hosting a day of Canada Day celebrations at two separate locations.
The day will begin with the Lions Club
Pancake Breakfast in Lions Park from 8:00 – 11:30 AM. It will be followed by the 15th annual fishing derby for children aged 10 and under.
The celebrations will then move on to Castle Park. There will be free shuttles to get there and a bike valet on-site. The event will start off with an opening ceremony that will include a flag raising, the singing of the national anthem and the cutting of a cake.
A community showcase is set to be hosted by Brad Rossington and will feature local performers. Children’s activities will include face painting, bouncy castles, a creation station and hamster balls. Sand Northrup, One Woman Circus will also be performing. There will be musical performances throughout the day from artists such as The Crayons, Chersea and Michael Greshman with the Rotoscopers.
Other activities will include a salmon barbecue for $10 which will be hosted by local firefighters and an international bazaar.
Flyers may be distributed throughout Coquitlam to spread the word about this popular annual event.
