New patisserie headed to Coquitlam

Pourquoi Pas, a Vancouver-area roving bakery, will be opening up a permanent location in Coquitlam soon.

The new patisserie is currently under construction, with an opening expected before the end of the year. Pourquoi Pas currently offers its baked goods through pop-up events, as well as an online service. Events such as farmers’ markets and local festivals provide plenty of opportunities for bakeries like Pourquoi Pas to open pop-up stalls, often using Business Cards and special promotional items to win repeat customers. With the new patisserie in Coquitlam, Pourquoi Pas – French for “Why not?” – will be setting up roots with a permanent home.

The bakery will offer a variety of sweet treats from the French tradition, along with fresh coffee. Regular menu items include palmiers, miniature almond cakes, various flavours of cookies, and tiramisu cream puffs. Pourquoi Pas will also offer seasonal treats that vary throughout the year, with a Vanilla Pecan Praline Buche de Noel a past holiday menu item. The store also advertises its creations using social media, with food photography and videos an increasingly important part of any restaurant. Pourquoi Pas will also be continuing to hold pop-up events and offer delivery service throughout the year.

Pourqoi Pas is set to open its brick-and-mortar location in late November or early December, at Eagle Ridge Plaza in Coquitlam.
