A major Coquitlam winter light display is back, as Lights at LeFarge has officially kicked off for another season.
The display features as many as 100,000 festive lights and displays arranged to help celebrate the holidays and the start of the new year. The attraction runs along a 1.2-kilometre pathway including archways and various themed areas. The Lights also use the Park Spark program to provide nightly activities aimed at families and children, from scavenger hunts to mascot parades, with different events each evening. Other events are sponsored by local partners, such as the Port of Vancouver and Coquitlam Centre.
The Lights at Lafarge display officially opened with a party containing food vendors and live entertainment on November 26, and will run throughout December and January. Holiday light and decoration displays are popular amidst families during the holiday season and are often promoted through methods such as flyer printing and social media marketing.
The display is free to attend, and boasts of being the largest such display in the Metro Vancouver area. Attendees are encouraged to use SkyTrain and other public transit due to limited on-site parking.
This year’s edition of Lights at Lefarge is located at Town Centre Park and will run nightly until the end of January, with special events varying on the day.
