What's Happening in Coquitlam, BC…

Each year, celebrations are held in honour of Scottish poet Robert Burns, and Coquitlam will also be marking the occasion.

A Celebration of Robbie Burns, which will pay homage to the poet known as Scotland’s National Bard, will be held at the city’s Place des Arts, and it will include many of the traditions that go hand in hand with this occasion. A fiddler and Celtic band will supply the music, and it is expected to have the audience’s toes tapping.

The program for the event will open with a piping in of the Haggis, and this will be followed by a reading of “Address to a Haggis”, which was penned by Burns. After this, there will be lots of music, as well as poetry and other entertainment, and both general admission and discounted student and senior tickets are available for the occasion. Those who attend the function will need to wear an approved mask to help prevent the spread of Covid.

A Celebration of Robbie Burns is scheduled to take place on January 15th at 1120 Brunette Avenue. Everyone is asked to take their seat for the event by no later than 7:30 pm.
