Many adults have always wanted to learn how to dance, but may think their dancing days are behind them. A Coquitlam offering may just change that, and it’s intended for the absolute ballet beginner.
Even if the only experience they have with ballet is watching it on television or dropping their child off for a class, this series of sessions is open to all local adults. It will be a co-ed activity, and the organizers explained that will be a great way to get fit.
Students will start with the fundamentals of ballet, and will take part in centre exercises and barre work. Participants will develop their mental concentration as well as their grace and co-ordination, and the goal is for the experience to be enjoyable for all students.
When preparing for class, registrants are asked to wear firm fitting clothes they can move around in easily, and ballet slippers are required. Long hair should be tied back, and a request was made that any dangling jewellery or loose items be left at home. A flyer printing company will be able to make sure the whole community knows when and where classes such as this will be on offer.
This series of ballet classes for the beginner is scheduled to begin on July 9th. It will be welcoming students at 1120 Brunette Avenue.
