The 14th annual Original Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash is taking place in Coquitlam next month. It is presented by the Now That`s Ugly Society and is a fundraiser for the Children's Wish Foundation.
This is an untimed 5K run that is open to people of all ages. Registration fees are $40 for adults and $10 for children aged 8 and under; participants are also encouraged to solicit donations from friends, family and co-workers. All runners receive an Ugly Christmas Sweater toque, a bib, hot chocolate during the race and a goodie bag from sponsors. Packages can be picked up at the Running Room Coquitlam on December 3 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM and on December 4 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
After the race, the Finishers Festival will feature holiday music, family entertainment and craft beer. There will also be snow blowers, themed stations and Christmas characters.
Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help ensure that everything runs smoothly.
It is likely that the pledge Forms and other printed materials will be provided by a Coquitlam printing company.
