New processing plant coming to Chilliwack

Over the past few years, Chilliwack has become well known for its blueberry production, and this has caught the attention of a BC based produce processing company.

Berry Hill Foods, which is based in Abbotsford, has decided to set up shop in Chilliwack. They will open a new plant in the community that will process harvested berries and ship them to their customers.

The site for the new business is in the Kerr Avenue Food processing Park at the Brannick Place property. Construction is set to begin sometime in October, and the plan is for it to be up and running in time for the 2016 blueberry season. A professional printing company will be able to provide the management and staff of the new facility with all the printed materials they need including everything from premium Business Cards to Signs, Letterheads and more.

According to Tom Phillips, who is the company’s general manager, Berry Hill Foods is looking forward to the expansion with great anticipation, and they very much appreciate the warm welcome they have been given by the community.

A representative from the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation remarked that it is pleased it was chosen as the location for the new plant, as it will create jobs and allow local growers to have an opportunity to have their berries processed locally by such a high quality company.
