The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce will be holding a business luncheon at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel on Thursday, June 28 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members.
The luncheon will feature two guest speakers. Jean-Paul Laube will be discussing "Growing the Abbotsford International Airport" and Jason Lum, a city councillor and former Chamber president, will talk about "Chilliwack Transportation." Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm and the presentations will follow.
This will be an excellent networking opportunity for Chilliwack business leaders, all of whom will make sure to bring their business card; printing extras will make sure everyone who wants a card will get one, so consulting a Print company beforehand would be smart. There are several suggestions for a successful networking lunch. Businesspeople should try to sit with those they do not already know, they should ask everyone at the table to take turns delivering their "elevator pitch" and they should exchange Business Cards with everyone at the table. The "elevator pitch" is a short 30-60 second blurb about what a business has to offer to other business leaders.
There are not too many chances to network during the summer, which is all the more reason why business leaders should try to attend those events that do take place so as not to lose their networking skills. Most use the summer as a change to evaluate how their networking has gone in the past year and how they can improve the outcome. They also take the time to decide which networking events they should attend after the summer.
