Two well known Chilliwack landmarks are to the focus of a photo contest that is being sponsored by the city.
Those who enjoy photography are invited to take their best shots of the Mount Thurston Range and Mount Cheam, with the winning shot to be used as a wrap for the Cheam Leisure Centre’s BC Hydro kiosk. Promotional items such as this can be produced by a company that provides printing services.
The contest will be judged by the Public Art Advisory Committee, which will choose its favorite and then take it to the city council for final approval.
Each person can submit two entries, and they must be residents of Chilliwack in order to participate. Those who will be using digital images can save them on a USB drive to be dropped off at City Hall. They should be marked “Attn: Jamie Leggatt” and be accompanied by a completed and signed submission form. Those who would prefer to send their images via the internet can do so on the city’s website, but must include a scanned copy of the fully completed submission form as well.
All photos must be in high resolution and digital format, and must be received by no later than June 3rd at 4:30 pm. The winner will receive a $250 prize during an upcoming meeting of the city council.
