Every year, Victoria Day sees the Burnaby Village Museum and Carousel celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday in a historic way; this year will be no exception.
The celebrations will include the Tidley Cove Morris Dancers, Maypole dancers, bagpipes, children's crafts, a parade and cake. There will also be musical performances from bands such as the Bessborough Brass Band and TrainNgang.
The carousel will also be open during the celebration; rides are $2. In addition, there will be vendors selling a variety of items, such as jewelry, natural beauty and pet products, cookies, pastries, cakes, and historical clothing.
Vendors and businesspeople who are taking part in the celebrations will likely be working with Burnaby printing companies to prepare thoroughly. This might involve sourcing Banners or Signs for their displays or Flyers to advertise their planned presence at the museum. Having a large and colorful banner might draw more people to the vendor’s stall and could result in increased sales. By sending out a flyer to regular customers, business owners can inform people of the upcoming event, allowing them to attract more visitors on the day.
The Burnaby Village Museum depicts life as it was in the 1920s; it is a popular draw for both residents and those who are visiting the city.
Victoria Day will be celebrated at the Burnaby Village Museum on May 20. The festivities begin at 11:00am and start to wind down at 4:30pm; admission is free. For more information, call 604-297-4565.
