The Hats off Day festival is taking place next month in Burnaby.
The festival is a presentation of The Heights Merchant Association and is set to be held on Hastings Street from Boundary Road to Gamma Avenue. It has been named ‘Burnaby’s Best Festival’ by readers of Burnaby Now.
The day will start off with a parade at 10:00 AM, which will travel down Beta Avenue to Boundary Road. It will feature local community groups, the RCMP, and the Seattle and Vancouver Police Drill Teams.
The festival will begin at 11:00 AM and will feature musical entertainment, children’s activities and special deals from local merchants. Visitors can participate in the Family Fun Dash, which is a fundraiser for the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society. The fee is $5 and the dash travels three blocks. Finishers will receive a ribbon and a goodie bag.
Another event will be the 17th annual Show and Shine car show, which will benefit Burnaby Community Services. It is open to cars, truck and motorcycles. The entry fee is $20 for cars and trucks and $10 for motorcycles.
