Jazz festival returns to Burnaby for 4th edition

Entering its fourth year, Jazz at the Bolt has solidified its status as an annual gem in Burnaby.

This music festival not only pays homage to jazz, but also serves as a vibrant celebration of diversity and community. Featuring multiple stages, Jazz at the Bolt offers a plethora of musical experiences for enthusiasts to explore. Beyond the tunes, attendees are invited to immerse themselves in a warm and inviting musical community.

Cory Weeds, the festival's founder, has cultivated strong ties with musicians worldwide through various jazz initiatives, particularly in the bustling hub of New York City. The current edition of the festival showcases a lineup featuring talented artists from New York City, complemented by musicians hailing from Houston, Phoenix, Toronto, and Vancouver – offering a fusion of emerging and seasoned performers.

The first night of the event will feature the Saba Amrei Iranian Quartet, Andrea Superstein, Chris Wong: Journeys To The Bandstand, Dayna Stephens, and Bonnie Northgraves.

Night two will highlight the Sharon Minemoto Quartet, Mike Allen Trio, Neil Swainson Sextet, and Noah Franche Nolan, along with more artists yet to be announced.

This year's Jazz At The Bolt will be held on February 17 and 18, from 11:30am to 9:00pm on both days. It will be held at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, and is priced at $100 for a weekend pass, or $60 per night.
