Burnabys budding beekeepers offered short course

Budding beekeepers in Burnaby have been issued an invitation to be part of a local learning opportunity, and it will welcome everyone from novices to experienced apiarists who would like a refresher on the hobby.

BC Bee Supply has scheduled a Beginners' Beekeeping class, and it will be a deep dive into the subject. It will introduce some of the newest techniques and equipment used in the field, and everyone who participates will be able to access a special discount for any purchases they make at the shop on the days the workshop takes space.

The two days of learning will be guided by two Bee Masters, and they will be sharing their expertise. The information may be helpful to both hobbyists and commercial honey producers alike, and the students will discover how they can support and expand their number of hives they maintain. It could be a great opportunity for those who are considering raising bees to meet others who share their interest, and this network of contacts may be valuable in the future.

The organizers of the workshop have explained that each registrant will receive a text they can then add to their own personal reference library. Materials like these can be produced by a local printing services company.

This opportunity to learn the basics of beekeeping is scheduled for September 25th and 26th. The location for the activity is situated at 4759 Hastings Street.
