Burnaby workshop to welcome beginner orchidophiles
Orchids are often thought of as exotic plants that are difficult to grow, but an upcoming Burnaby workshop will show how easy their care and culture can be.
Gardenworks Burnaby will be welcoming both experienced and newbie orchidophiles for its Orchid Fusion Workshop, which will combine them and other plants into a terrarium arrangement that offers taste of the tropics. Tickets are $100.79, and they cover the cost of the plants and other materials, as well as the instruction.
The attendees in the session will create their own mini landscape that will put orchids in the spotlight, and they can add other plants as well as moss, pebbles, bark and other decor. They can choose the orchid they wish to use, and the planting will be contained in a transparent vase. Everyone will learn how to care for their new mini garden, and they can choose to keep it or gift it to someone special.
A planting class gives members of the public a chance to get involved in hands-on horticulture. Stationery printers can prepare tip sheets to hand out to each attendees in a workshop like this.
Gardenworks in Burnaby will be offering its Orchid Fusion Workshop on Sunday, February 9th. It will run from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, and its Eventbrite listing includes a link to purchase tickets.
