A workshop will give residents of Burnaby the knowledge they need to cope in a natural or man-made disaster, and everyone is highly encouraged to participate.
Many of those who work in the field of emergency services know that being well prepared can be helpful to anyone in a crisis situation. This workshop has been created through the cooperative efforts of the City of Burnaby Emergency Management Department and the Burnaby Public Library. It can be helpful to individual adults, families and seniors, and the details shared will be practical and include actionable tips that participants can put into practice right away.
Participants will find out what to do should there be an earthquake, fire, storm or other crisis, and along with this, they will be taught steps they can take to minimize the hazards that exist in their own home. Creating an emergency plan and disaster kit will also be covered.
