Businesses in Burnaby are welcome to be among the audience for a virtual learning event that will focus on creating an accessible workplace.
The Neil Squire Society will be presenting a workshop that will explore the variety of options available that can help to remove physical and other barriers in the workplace, and it will be led by Marketing Manager Nate Toevs. Ergonomics, assistive technology and services that may be helpful in creating an adapted workplace will all be discussed, and there will be product demonstrations on the agenda as well.
The participants in the session will be invited to explore the ways they can welcome employees with a disability into their place of work, and the various funding options available will be reviewed. It will offer an introduction to the WorkBC Assistive Technology Services program, and at the end of the workshop, each registrant will receive a $20 credit voucher they will be able to redeem with SkipTheDishes.
Hosting an informative event like this is one way an organization can support the population it serves. A brochure printing company will be able to supply printed learning materials to send out to each participant who requests them.
This Lunch and Learn event will be hosted on the Zoom platform on July 15th. It will run from 11:50 am until 1:00 pm.
