Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Burnaby once again honored the memory of a young boy who wanted to bring a smile to the faces of kids who had to spend their holidays in the hospital.
Keian Blundell first started his toy drive back in 2012 when he was undergoing his first round of chemotherapy. The RCMP learned about his efforts and made him an honorary member of their organization in 2013, and began collecting toys to help him meet his goal.
The tradition has carried on since then.
So far, the police have made sure that hundreds of toys have been delivered to the patients at BC Children’s Hospital and Canuck Place. The toys are donated by RCMP members and the general public and taken to the hospital by the police wearing their ceremonial uniforms of red serge.

This year, 300 toys were collected with the assistance of Terri Wilson and Jennifer Yost, employees of the City of Burnaby, as well as $112 in both cash and Gift Certificates.
