The Burnaby area has a reputation for being a great place to call home, and it will soon host a gathering for residents that will help them become good environmental stewards.
The Free Burnaby Picnic With Environmental Education event will give members of the public a sneak peek into the lives of bees and other pollinators. It will be held in Foreshore Park, and there is no charge to participate.
The attendees at the function will be able to get to know their neighbours, and everyone is invited to bring a dish for the planned pot luck meal. Prize draws are also in the works for the day, and while they are enjoying themselves, the guests can discover facts about bees and what they need to be healthy and happy.
Volunteers are needed to help ensure it will be a success. Stationery printers will be pleased to lend a hand to event organizers by preparing “thank you” certificates to present to each helper at an event similar to this one.
