The first days of a new baby’s life can be very precious to mothers and the entire family, and a Burnaby area workshop will help women prepare for this time.
The Childbearing Society will be giving mothers an evening of learning about the importance of self-care during the postpartum period. An experienced birth and postpartum doula, who is also a mother of three, will serve as the guide for the session, and admission to the evening is free.
During the activity, the facilitator will present a variety of tips for making pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period as stress free as possible. Light refreshments will be served to the group, and several doulas will address the attendees, sharing their expertise. It will give existing clients of Doulas of Vancouver an opportunity to meet additional team members, and those who have planned a different birth experience will also be able to participate and meet other future moms.
An information evening like this gives women a way to come together and learn from one another. Pamphlets and other handouts can be prepared by a brochure printing company ,including full colour photos.
The Childbearing Society has made arrangements to offer its Mothering the Mother: Tips for a Stress-Free Postpartum session at 3569 Commercial Street in Vancouver on May 24th. It is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
