Burnaby is offering its residents an information session focused on safety for seniors.
The City Hall Council Chambers will be welcoming a presentation facilitated by Seniors First BC, and it will cover safety for older adults and those who care for them. Caregivers are encouraged to attend, and it has been scheduled for the evening hours.
The session will offer tips and advice for avoiding elder abuse, and it will also explain what to do if someone has concerns. The audience will find out how to contact Seniors First BC for support and advocacy, and everyone will walk away with a personal tool kit of knowledge they can use to protect themselves or an older adult they care about. Anyone who is interested can submit an RSVP, and the organizers are also interested in hearing from members of the public about topics they would like to see addressed in subsequent instalments of the Safe Community Series.
An information session like this gives the public an opportunity to learn a lot about a topic in a short amount of time. A brochure printing company can prepare handouts and other customized learning materials that may be distributed at such events.
