The Tommy Douglas branch of the Burnaby Public Library serves as a community hub, and one of its offerings will encourage local dads to enjoy some special bonding time with their babies.
Fathers of newborns to infants aged 18 months are being invited to attend an event series that will give them a chance to spend some one-on-one time with their child while also meeting other new dads. They will take place on Saturday mornings, and each of the sessions will be half an hour long.
To help encourage early literacy in kids, the group will be treated to a story reading, while a “baby bounce” will hopefully put a smile on the faces of the babies and dads alike. Additional siblings are welcome to attend as well, and the registrants may even show up early and stay late so they have extra time to socialize and get to know the other fathers.
Libraries often host workshops and other activities like this for the benefit of members of the local community. A poster printing company will be able to partner with these institutions to help them get the word out about any of the events on their agenda.
The Tommy Douglas Library has made arrangements to offer its Babytime with Dad sessions starting on January 21st. They will take place on Saturday mornings until February 25th.
