Burnaby families welcome to enjoy activity on the ice

Once each February, B.C. celebrates families, and many activities are planned to mark the occasion. In Burnaby, one of these offerings will be a special skating session that will include some extra family fun.

As part of the Family Day Winter Festival, Bill Copeland Sports Centre has organized a morning and early afternoon with kids, parents, grandparents, and the rest of the family in mind. Admission is $2, which includes the cost of skate and helmet rental.

While the skaters spend some time in the ice, they can enjoy the music and other live entertainment. The kids can sport a new look if they stop by the face painting stations, and arts and crafts tables will also be on offer.

As well as the afternoon of skating, the plans for the day include a pancake breakfast, and this will also be held at the same venue. This is being offered thanks to the Burnaby Lougheed Lions Club, and admission to this part of the day is by a donation of at least $5.

This part of Burnaby’s Family Day festivities will be welcoming the public on February 17, and more details can be obtained by contacting 604-297-4521. The stacks of pancakes will be hitting the plates between 9:00 am and 11:30 am. A huge welcome banner can be prepped for this sort of function by a banner printing company.
