Burnaby class to prepare beeswax balms

Beeswax can be used to craft a variety of products, and a Burnaby area class will teach members of the public how to prepare an assortment of these for themselves.

A workshop is set to be on offer by the Village Vancouver Westside Neighbourhood Food Network. It will be led by Lori Snyder, and she will be teaching how to prepare a variety of beeswax-based salves. It will have a run time of two hours, and it will be suitable for adults.

The group will learn how to craft beeswax-based salves that contain botanical oils, and it has been noted that they are often quick and easy to make. This basic method may also be used to prepare lip balms, hair treatments and other products. Along with this, there will be a seed exchange, and a representative of the community seed library will be on hand. Everyone is encouraged to bring along any seeds they would like to swap or share.

Many organizers of educational sessions like this choose to order printed materials for the occasion from a local brochure printing company. These will help to make it easier for the attendees to keep on crafting even after a workshop has drawn to a close.

The Kitsilano Community Centre will be offering this hands-on class on February 8th. It will start at 6:30 pm, and the participation fee is $13.00 each.
