The Burnaby Board of Trade and the Surrey Board of Trade will be presenting the Business and Families Dialogue forum; a panel discussion on how to create family friendly workplaces.
The forum will feature a panel of workplace experts who will be sharing their own experience with family friendly workplaces. They will also be discussing how business owners can do a better job of supporting employees with families. This can involve flexible work schedules so that parents can take children to appointments or pick them up from school, the choice to work from home when the child is sick or has a day off school, and possibly even have day-care facilities on the premises.
The panel will be describing how a family friendly workplace will result in happier employees and will help strengthen the company. It has been proven time and time again that happier employees work harder; benefiting both the company and the employee.
The forum will also be a great chance for members of both the Surrey and Burnaby boards of trade to network; creating valuable contacts. It's very likely that many who plan to attend the forum will be organizing business card printing in advance. They will want to ensure that they have enough cards and that those cards they have include current contact information.
The Business and Families Dialogue forum will take place at Eaglequest Golf Course on February 5 from 7:30am - 11:00am. Tickets are free. For more information call 604-412-0100.
