Burnaby baker hosts local cookie class

Hand-decorated cookies can be a great fit for a party or to give as a gift, and a Burnaby area class will soon create a brand new crop of cookie artists.

The workshop, which is suitable for any level of experience, will be led by a subject matter expert who owns her own bakery business. All of the ingredients and materials needed to prepare a bouquet of seven decorated sugar cookies will be included, and several techniques will be shared.

The students will learn about the preparation of royal icing, and they will be taught how to create the right consistency and colour for the project they are working on. Everyone will receive a take-home box to keep their treats safe for the ride home, and water will be available. Those who arrive a few minutes early will be able to purchase a cup of coffee to enjoy while they learn.

Lots of people enjoy freshly baked cookies, and knowing how to create a professionally decorated look can take them to a new level. Recipe sheets for an activity like this one can be prepared by Stationery printers.

The Spring Flower Cookie Decorating Workshop will be held on May 13th at 820 village Drive in Port Coquitlam. Ticket prices for the session start at $86.53.
