A hands-on Burnaby workshop will soon be lending pollinators a helping hand, and it will offer members of the public a way to welcome these creatures into their own gardens.
While many people know that honeybees face a variety of challenges, they may not be aware that these are an introduced species. Mason bees and other native types of bee can also benefit from human help, and BC Bee Supply will show how easy it can be to provide it.
The company has made plans to host the Mason Bees and Native Pollinators workshop, and it will teach the basics of giving these tiny but important creatures some care. The participants will learn about their life cycles, where they live and what they need to thrive, and along with all of this, they will also discover ways of making them feel at home in a garden.
To help each of the registrants in the session get started, they will all be going home with a specially designed “starter cottage” for native bees. A brochure printing company will be able to offer publications offering further information that can be distributed to those who participate in this sort of session.
Burnaby’s BC Bee Supply, which can be found at 4759 Hastings Street, has made arrangements to host this event on March 25th and April 1st. The registration fee is $67.90.
