The BC Rugby organization will be holding its club league finals in Abbotsford this year, bringing together some of the best amateur players from across the province.
The event will see the championship games for seven senior club leagues representing different levels of skill and experience, including the top-level Men’ and Women’s Premier League, as well as three lower-division men’s leagues and two women’s. The games will be split across two fields and use the full eighty-minute rugby union rules, with 15 players aside trying to get the ball across the line to score a try. Teams qualify for the finals through playoff competitions hosted throughout the spring, and include school teams like the University of Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds as well as adult clubs like the Castaway Wanderers and Pacific Pride.
The finals will feature a festival environment with food truck, merchandise from the O’Neills tent, and drinks. Sports organizations often use Print shops to create commemorative items like T-Shirts and hoodies for both athletes and their supporters. Funds from ticket prices will go to support the BC Rugby organization, which also offers teams and training for younger age groups.
The 2025 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals will take place at Abbotsford Exhibition Park on May 3. Ticket prices will be free for children 13 and younger, and half price for those 14-18.
