The Abbotsford Hospice & Grief Support Society will hold its 11th annual Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic this July, marking over a decade supporting people in need.
The event will include a full day of golf, including a lunch break, to be followed by a dinner. Golfers are encouraged to register as a foursome or as individuals to meet new people. Separate tickets for the dinner are also available. Past events have included competition at the driving range and the chance to win a car.
The Classic raises money for the AHGSS’s efforts throughout the year in providing compassionate support to people with terminal illnesses and their loved ones. The group says it has helped more than 30, 000 people in the Abbotsford community in the past year. The event was created to honour the memory of Dave and Lee Holmberg as well as their son Dave Holmberg Jr.
Past editions of the Classic have raised over $80, 000 for the cause. Funds from the event also go towards the Nicholas Holmberg Memorial Scholarship which supports students in the community. Charity events like this are often supported by sponsors, who feature in brochure printing and special events or awards to recognize their contribution.
The 2026 edition of the Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic will take place at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford on July 24.
