The Move For A Mother charity run will be returning to Abbotsford this October for its fourth edition, looking to provide support for local parents.
The event challenges participants to walk, run or roll two laps around Abbotsford’s Mill Lake, adding up to about 4.4 kilometres. Movers will solicit donations from friends and family to support their efforts. There will be prizes awarded to the top finishers as well as the biggest fundraisers and other outstanding efforts.
The Move for A Mother event will also include a festival area with food trucks and a kids’ section featuring games and activities. There will be a silent auction for items donated from the community running throughout the morning. All participants will receive a complementary T-shirt to commemorate the event. Fundraising events often turn to printing services to help create shirts and other memorabilia.
Proceeds from the run and silent auction will go towards the Care for Women organization, which provides support for potentially vulnerable new mothers in the Fraser Valley region. The organization provides services such as meals, mentorship, and transportation. This year’s edition of the run is looking to raise $70,000.
The 2026 Move for Mothers run will take place at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford on the morning of October 3. Children 12 and under can participate for free.
